A 3RD TIME TO DIE is a paranormal romance, centered around Past Lives, rebirth, and championship horse jumping. It has also collected mostly Five-Star reviews, with readers likening it to the best, less spooky works of Dean Koontz and Stephen King, two of the great wordsmiths in fiction writing.
Here’s a synopsis:
Ashley Easton rescues a badly abused horse, deciding to return to show jumping, the passion of her youth. The animal gives unquestioned love, something lacking from her husband, Keith. When Ashley begins competing, she becomes terrified as the show course morphs into an old forest, and the obstacles appear as real walls, fences and trees. Her thoughts spill through her head in elegant French, as she attacks the jumps with a fearless abandon, winning every competition.
Craig Thornton, an avid horseman, sees Ashley’s first competition. He’s entranced as she and her horse, Injun, cover the course with grace and speed. Mystically drawn together, it’s as if they knew the other… but from where? They eventually meet, becoming fast friends, their love of jumping horses a mutual bond.
Ashley seeks therapy to address a strange terror swamping her whenever she’s intimate. During hypnotic regression, she’s stunned to find herself in two apparent past lives, first in the 17th Century, on a fox hunt as a fearless French countess, and again, 150 years later in Philadelphia, a dying shipping tycoons daughter. In both “lives” she is fulfilled by glorious romance, followed by the terror of her and her lover’s brutal murder while making fervid love, each time in similar forested glades.
The psychiatrist says these are figments of her subconscious, but he’s shaken, realizing they were real past lives… and their killer may be lurking again nearby.
Ashley and Craig soon discover more than friendship between them. As these two newly rediscovered lovers struggle to free themselves from broken marriages, others plan to fulfill a 300-year-old legacy of death.
Reviews for A 3rd Time to Die
(5*) By MikiHope - This is an extremely well written, thought out and planned book from beginning to end,
Do you believe in past lives? Do you ever have those deja vu moments when you know you have been somewhere or know someone but really cannot figure out from where but the connection is definitely there… good or bad? Whether you do or don't believe this book will send chills up and down your spine as it takes you step by step through the past and present lives of two lovers destined to be together… eventually. Brutally murdered in their first two lifetimes the one person who witnessed both these atrocities is the only one who can save them. This is an extremely well written, thought out and planned book from beginning to end-I can guarantee you will not be able to put it down! All I know is I definitely want to read more of the author's work.
(5*) By Dianne O'keefe - A thrilling ride - don't' miss it
Bearing in mind that I like paranormal romance novels, I was pretty convinced that I would like this novel, especially since I also like horse riding. The big surprise was that I never expected it to be comparable to great writers of this genre such as Dean Koontz or Stephen King. A Third Time to Die really delivered, providing an intriguing storyline and very believable characters. As I reached midway in the book, I was turning pages almost as fast as I could read to find out what would happen next. I enjoyed it immensely and am glad I tried it out. I look forward to more, and am delighted the author already has another book out. Time to download it to my Kindle!
(4*) By Gina - paranormal & suspense combo
I received this book for a fair and honest review. A bit of paranormal and a bit of suspense combine for one heck of a story. Past lives with visions of murder and a budding love story make for some sticky situations for Ashley and Craig, the two main characters. This was a very unique story with no angels, demons vamps or wolves involved. The suspense comes from something completely different and that's quite refreshing for readers who are full up of those types of books. The plot is engrossing and will keep you up reading late into the night to find out what happens next.
(5*) Roamin2 "The Traveler" - Excellent Paranormal Romantic Suspense
This is the first romantic novel that has ever kept me in total suspense. Although I like paranormal fiction (and nonfiction), romance is not my thing, but this is so well written that I can't put it down. His ability to draw you right into the scenes is amazing. Can't wait to read his first novel, Trapped.
